About

Chris Minardi Profile Picture

At the intersection of strategic vision and creative storytelling, I thrive on pushing the limits of what is thought to be possible. My work blends together my expertise in writing, technology, and data analytics to drive measurable impact for brands and people.

Over the past 12 years, I’ve had a share of life-changing moments that have shaped who I am and what I believe in work and in life. Between my first and second years of college, I had founded two video game startups with my friends and was in charge of the modeling and animation. Ultimately, those didn’t end up working out, but that same year, I had accepted a research position in computer science to build a website to connect teachers, and I had begun taking freelance gigs to help cover expenses.

In 2015, I graduated with a film degree and moved to Brooklyn for the summer to work on indie films, eager to start my journey as a Fulbright Scholar in Albania. I built a similar website for the Ministry of Education and Sports there, produced a short documentary, and did a photo journal of the country all whilst traveling throughout Europe and North Africa.

I had an HR leader tell me once that it was important to fill your backpack with different tools - and so I left the entertainment industry after working at NBC upon my return from Albania and jumped headlong into the energy industry, where I joined Avangrid’s AGILE Talent program for young talent. It was an MBA in real life, and I learned more than I ever had in any role previously in my time there. I went and got married and had a baby, finishing my actual MBA in Finance in August of 2023. Almost 5 years after starting my journey at Avangrid, Nexans called me up to lead communications in North America, where I have been since.

A lot of people put words like “synergies” and “growth” in their bios. They put keywords and buzzwords that supposedly drive clicks. What I’ve learned the most in my career is that no matter if you are in marketing or finance or IT, the most important trait for any leader or any team member is authenticity. So I’m not here to tell you about how I can drive growth and results (my resume highlights those accomplishments), just to tell you a bit about myself and my story.

Soli Deo Gloria.

Education

MBA Finance

Sacred Heart University

2020-2023

Started my MBA on my honeymoon and focused on management at first, but quickly switched to the finance track. I knew that math has always been a blind spot in my education, so I leaned into the finance specialization to fill the gap.

BA Media Studies (Minor Graphic Design)

Sacred Heart University

2012 — 2015

I started college in 2011 at the University of Mary Washington, which wasn't the best fit. I transferred to SHU and fell in love. I learned so much and even had the benefit of being able to fence and do theater.

What I Do

Brand Strategy and Positioning

Everyone has a brand. A brand is ultimately the lens through which the world sees a person or a company.

Marketing Campaign Leadership

I've tried everything you can imagine to grow channels, and I focus heavily on getting meaningful engagement across campaigns with principles such as the 7-11-4 rule.

Strategic Storytelling

The oldest form of art is storytelling (visual storytelling through cave paintings, to be exact). People experience the world through stories, and I try to help brands tell theirs.

Public Relations and Executive Communications

One of the first touchpoints of any company or person is the media. The media is a warzone at times, and I help navigate those waters calmly and coolly.

Digital Strategy and Technology Solutions

I've been blessed to have learned how to code early in life. And while I'm by no means a full-stack developer, I've built my fair share of computers, websites, and servers.

Financial Planning and Analysis

I mentioned before that I liked to fill my tool bag with a variety of different skills. In all of my most recent roles, I've had to plan massive budgets and ROI for every dollar spent. The MBA came in handy.
